Information and Communication Technologies in India(ICT Sector) The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector has achieved a vital role in India's economy. The contribution of India's IT sector to its economic up-turn is legendary. It has been generating Annual Compund Growth Rates (ACGR) of over 28% for a decade or so. But also the Telecommunication sector in India is achieving extra-ordinary growth. Currently over 6 million new mobile phone connections are reported to be sold each month. At December-end 2006 there were reported to be some 150 million mobile phone subscribers, up from 75 million just one year back. For this reason, the ICT sector enjoys a vital focus of interest in our Research Project Gobal Innovation (RPGI). Currently following project(s) are underway to investigate chances and challenges in India's ICT sector: For any information, please feel free to contact: Rajnish Tiwari |
